IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY GHOST, AMEN.
ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father, I have erred and strayed from Thy ways like a lost sheep. I acknowledge and bewail my manifold sins and wickedness, which I from time to time most grievously have committed, by thought, word, and deed, against Thy Divine Majesty.
But, O Lord, according to Thy loving-kindness, be merciful to me, a sinner. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Grant me true repentance, that, forsaking my sins, I may turn unto Thee with my whole heart.
I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is Thy only-begotten Son, our Lord and Saviour; that He died for my sins, was buried, and that Thou didst raise Him again the third day. I confess Him before men to be my Lord, and I put my whole trust in His merits and atoning sacrifice.
According to Thy gracious promise, forgive me all my sins, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Bestow upon me the gift of Thy Holy Ghost, that I may continue steadfast in the Apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in prayers, and in holiness of life.
Grant me grace to obey Thy holy commandments, to persevere faithfully in Thy service unto my life’s end, and at the last to obtain everlasting life.
I humbly commend unto Thy fatherly care my children and my children’s children. Preserve them in the true Faith of our Lord Jesus Christ; keep them under the shadow of Thy wings; defend them from all evil; guide them by Thy Holy Ghost in the way of righteousness; and grant that, walking faithfully before Thee, they may at length be numbered with all Thy faithful people in Thy heavenly kingdom.
Watch over me this night, O Lord, and grant me quiet rest. Defend me from all the assaults of the enemy; keep me in peace beneath the shadow of Thy wings; and if it be Thy blessed will that I awake on the morrow, grant that I may serve Thee with a thankful heart; but if this night Thou shouldst call me hence, receive me into Thy heavenly kingdom.
All these things I ask through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, Thy only-begotten Son, our only Lord and Saviour, to whom, with Thee, O Father, and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end; AMEN.
IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND THE HOLY GHOST
AMEN.
